The world doesn’t have enough sectoral bargaining
Tipped wage shouldn’t be a thing at all.
Neither should tipping. People should just be able to work a job and get paid.
Yeah. It’s one thing when people leave some extra money for good service or tell the server to keep the change, all while knowing that none of this is necessary.
It’s another when a 15%+ surcharge is added to the total so that the server can afford to live.
Or when the digital tip button starts at 25%, it just sounds like hidden fees.
Get rid of tipping. Easy solution.
Tipping is fine if you found something up to show your appreciation.
Else it’s not a tip but wages and the employer should pay those.
It’s generally known and well understood that bribery is a method one can use to show their appreciation.
People take issue with the inevitable structural shortcomings that are inherent to its function. No one cares about the specific vessel of action that was used.
Or how about get rid of the fucking awful tipping culture that everyone else abandoned because it’s fucking stupid?
Tipped workers don’t want to get rid of tipped wages.
They would in point five seconds if you gave them healthy hourly wages, and real worker benefits.
When people talk about a general strike I honestly feel that the most impactful strikers would be those that serve in high end restaurants or serve/deliver the food of the ultra wealthy.
Don’t worry. Trump is gonna remove taxes on tips. That’s like, so much money! /s
Also, it’s a terrible idea.
