I really want to build a home server but the price of computer bits went nuts in the past few years. Though if anyone knows where I can get a bunch of storage for cheap, let me know. Trying to get 40+TB with full redundancy.

you don’t need-need redundancy on media from torrents, just back up torrent files themselves, it will rebuild itself if worst come to worst. also 40tb is a lot, you planning storing lots of photos as well? soviet-hmm

Yea drive prices especially have gone up a lot. goharddrive or serverpartdeals (both on ebay or their own sites, have bought from the later with no issue) both sell used enterprise drives for good prices though. There are periodic sales as well, black friday is usually good. Like seagate recently had some 24tb drives on sale for like 260 each. datahoarder on reddit usually has sale posts although idk if you use reddit much.
