I think certain things can stall the computer from polling, so if you’re computer is super weak or youre doing something super heavy it would suffer
Maybe its a placebo effect but I did notice it handle itself better when running multiple things.
Piefed is written in python instead of rust and I can see how that’s helping their dev speed but has anyone done any testing to see if the language/backend will perform well at scale?
I actually wanted a PS2 port because it works with interrupts rather than polling but they aren’t really included anymore.
I feel like they don’t make boards for people like me who want small boards with a super niche port.
When a MoDT Mini-ITX board comes out with a PS2 port I will buy that instantly
I get it and agree mostly. I definitely think socioeconomic classes are more of a defining/dividing line than a heritage you happen to share with someone.
Only <1% of any humans DNA differs, but I think a better point is that everyone is atleast 50th cousins or something (Granted if you share a heritage its much closer)
But also if you told someone like my girlfriend that race isn’t real she’d probably sock you. She’s experienced it and its very real to her.
When we started dating I would actually try to talk about how I don’t understand why she would side with someone solely because their skin was dark like hers and it would be a point of contention. She would literally associate with someone that objectively did something she thinks is reprehensible because of literally only that. She grew up very wealthy and never hurt anyone, guy on the news was someone in and out of prison who literally fired first on the guy that revived him with narcan–but they happen to have the same color of skin.
As a boy other Latinos would literally antagonize me for “acting white” because I would rather read during recess than play football/soccer–because being educated is associated with being white; we were the children of poor families with gangbangers as role models so we must obviously be destined for different things /s
I feel like a lot of racial issues are cultural and self-perpetuating. But my girlfriend in particular was the only black woman in a white conservative town, people would open doors for her friends and close it when it came to her, If I visit her hometown she doesn’t want to be out for long, etc. So I get why it is very important to her.
I get how it can be shocking that someone doesn’t know as much as you about something that seems like common knowledge to you,
But tbh I’m like pretty certain the firmware is mostly the same, and it can’t be that different if Switch 1 games can be upgraded to Switch 2 games. I doubt they went back and ported every single game to a new system if it wasn’t easy to do so. So tbh I don’t think its going to be that long for emulators to come out.
Not sure how accurate my memory of the modern world map would be for that far back but depending on “where I spawned in” I would try and migrate to like ideal farmland or somewhere I know is good to build up.
If I was near Iberia I’d probably try for Cordoba… Western America, I’d go for San Francisco or anywhere near Lake Tulare… I’m sure there’s more than I am remembering right now.
I wouldn’t have to worry about organized religion having immense crusades and could carve out a little kingdom.
Try to make a modest “fortress” out of ashlar blocks or anything I can make primitively. Try to find a way to record as much “hints” towards technological progress for my descendants to follow.
Fertilizer, Germs, Animal Husbandry, Public Works (Dams), Canning, Gunpowder (not idea of gun just explosives, but they’ll probably weaponize it), steam power, oil, electricity, refrigeratation, concept of computers.
It’ll probably just have to be drawings but if I can find a cool gal and learn her language enough to roll with it then it’ll just have to be that, No point in writing it in English.
If I can actually get to the point of building a steam/wobbler engine that would probably be my life goal.
Throw in ancient technologies that are cool like Yakchals(?) and what not to actually survive to that point.
Get a little area where I would actually want to live.
Carve out mountains to channel water to more areas, basically accelerate what Egypt is doing to spread the green lush from the Nile River.
Make ideal spots for some cities, get a lot of gold out of the ground to prepare to buy the land
Pour all the foundations of the buildings, build lines of rails for public transit and trains. Make sewer system and areas to transport water
Just make it super easier for people to come and build/live there, and if I own it all I can avoid big corporations coming and pushing out growing businesses

One of my favorite games ever, guy made his own engine.
It does have design flaws, don’t get me wrong. But this is is really novel and has enough content to get somewhat deep into it.
Eventually you start seeing the same things but for essentially a one man team it’s really impressive.
I was barely 23 and am currently dating the same girl I met who was 19. (Its about to be 2 years woo!)
I had just gotten out of military so most girls in my classes were 3-4 years younger and I wasn’t interested in dating (I like women a bit older than me) but she wreckingballed into my life because she saw something she wanted and actively attempted to get it.
This is the best relationship I’ve ever had but I won’t deny that sometimes the response I get to something serious and wanting to plan ahead is met by my partner suggesting I move into the city (alone) to be closer just so she knows what it’s like to have a boyfriend in the city.
Her focuses right now are being young and getting her excitement now before she has to square away. She used to think everyone has a stoner era and that was just what people did, so she was surprised how anti-drug/vice I was. The mental divide is definitely something I would warn people about when dating with age differences.
I dont understand the guys that date fresh 18 year olds in their near 30’s, I know its legal but I genuinely dont understand what a 30 year old would find so interesting about an 18 year old other than just trying to bang/control them.
