LibreOffice Calc can’t do everything Excel can do. But LibreOffice Calc + Pandas or R can! That is how I work.

If you want a cloud solution you can’t go wrong with Jottacloud. It has both two way sync and one way “archive” sync.
If you have your own server, or multiple machines at least, you should go with Syncthing. Each client decides, for each share whether they are receive, send, or reciprocal.
That sounds realistic except how do you rent out slaves from Alligator Alcatraz. It’s not exactly commuting distance to any Texan farms?
