TBH, if donating to the devs feels like betraying your morals and values, using the project should feel wrong as well.

Any change brings some pain, that’s unavoidable, but it doesn’t mean it will not be interesting as well.

If they scale that tech out of the lab, it would mean some redesign of the computer hardware, maybe unifying RAM and HD.
