I came across this Bill C-2 just browsing YouTube. I thought it was for another country but this is for Canada. It enables warrantless search and it’s up to the business/organization to fight the request of information on our behalf. I don’t think Amazon/Bell/Google will put out a fight before they hand over our informations.

I’ve been yelling about this bill for weeks. It’s an extremely disturbing government overreach, but this seems to be the way the new liberal government is moving in general.

This isn’t a Liberal vs Conservative thing. Both parties want the same thing. That’s why they both support these types of bills. Neither party represents us or has our best interest in mind. They want power and control over us.

This is one of those very peculiar, but definitely not connected, and definitely isn’t part of a global order, types of laws/regulations that are being passed world wide - even the swiss.

So, nothing to see here. Nothing to fret about. It’s just gonna be used to save the children and, pinky swear, nothing else.

      Now, back in line, citizen.

Bill c5 and bill c2 seem to be a lot more overreaching than what the liberal government was putting out before, plus they at least had the NDP to safeguard a bit. I certainly feel like they’re moving in a bolder (worse) direction.

Use a VPN for everything except looking up Bible quotes and searching for grannie porn.

And, for the love of god and all that is holy, change the DNS on their modem/routers and use a secure DNS provider on a different device.

And check that your DNS resolver does esni / ech properly.

    https://www.cloudflare.com/en-ca/ssl/encrypted-sni

Your results should look like this:

    Addendum:

If you can, or if you know someone, or if you care enough to learn (I went from zero knowledge of DNS to “zero trust” in a modest amount of time), set up your own DNS resolvers or DNS proxies. Learn about things like DNS rebinding (bad), and how to prevent leaks using a VPN.

Personally, I use dnscrypt-proxy on Linux and android. It can be configured to use a local DoH server, quic/http3, DoT, and of course, dnscrypt.

Dnscrypt-proxy can use IP and domain block lists - no more ads, sypware, malware, tracking, porn - whatever category you want. It is compatible with adblock, unlock, and any other block list syntax. It also has the ability to forward certain domains to specific IPs. Eg someone looks up Facebook? They get redirected to 0.0.0.0 or why not lemonparty dot org.

The dnscrypt protocol both encrypts and anonymizes your DNS queries by relaying them through a series of relays (your_ choice of which and how many).

      Use a VPN for everything

Use a VPN that can be trusted. If your VPN provider advertises on YouTube and has special 3 year deals YOU are the product.

This is not all about your Internet. If a cop suspects someone on your Dr’s clinic is going to commit an offence the peace officer can request for all the bloodwork in that clinic without a warrant.

I know, i watched the video. But it seems that some of the most personal information you have and the language of this can be found via your internet use and behavior.

I doubt that your dental or medical history is of much interest in the same way your criticism of Israel or the government of Canada and, as mentioned in the video, " being a gadfly" (a pest or nuissance), and promoting resistance would be more in line with the bill’s (ab)use.

Anyway, every tool you can use to protect your privacy should be used.

remember to write, AND CONTINUOUSLY PRESSURE YOUR MPS. that means, once they send you an automated message, and they will. send them REPEATING MESSAGES about the fall put that will come. threaten them with converting your family members to other parties. threaten their jobs. threaten to make every day a day where you attack their image. do not be polite. be ANGRY.

*if your MP is a liberal.

My MP is a useless NDP, has been for decades now. She’s gotten my riding pretty much zero dollars of federal investment / business. She only cares about women and immigrant issues. If you write to her, she’ll literally respond with shit like “I’m not sure, but women don’t make up the majority of board members in private industry yet, so we gotta keep funding more women’s only issues and initiatives! Donate to my re-election campaign!”.

Anyone in a party-‘lock’ riding, especially if it’s locked to a party that never gets a majority, is just unrepresented.

Remember when everyone said vote Liberal to prevent the Conservatives from coming into power?

Looks like we got a Conservative government anyways.

So we should have voted conservative to get what exactly? The liberal party is a political party, it is crooked by default but it is the party that was least likely to sell off every resource this country has in the first 20min.
