Disclaimer: It’s been a few years since I was torrenting regularly. This week I went searching for a few specific torrents, and I was shocked and dismayed by the state of things.
First, I wanted to download a bunch of movie soundtracks. A few years ago, this would have been fairly straightforward. But I was surprised to find that, well, I couldn’t find. Almost all the albums I went after were nowhere to be found.
Then, last night, I tried to torrent the new Superman. I downloaded 3 different torrents… each one had a super annoying, non-transparent watermark moving around the screen constantly. It made the movie totally unwatchable.
Is this really the state of piracy? What happened??

Is Superman even out of cinimas yet? Idk what rose coloured past you are looking at, but shitty cams have been around forever. I haven’t needed to download music in over a decade thanks to streaming, so I can’t comment on if anyone even bothers to upload music torrents anymore.
Shitty cams are fine! It’s the SUPER prominent, constantly-moving watermark that kills me.

Regarding the watermark, that’s what they put on screeners, so you probably downloaded a screener. That’s because it hasn’t been released outside of theaters yet.
No, this is a cam. Someone filmed it in a theater and slapped their own watermark on it.
