Celebrity deaths never hit for me, but this yanked the rug out. At least he got his honors at the tribute concert. The musicians that showed out at that concert say more about Ozzy’s impact than I could ever write.
Judas Priest had a scheduling conflict for… The Scorpions.
Mammoth had a scheduling conflict for Creed.
“Megadeth was not invited to the event despite expressing interest.”
I wonder which band wanted to get paid?!
Sad loss. “Diary of a Madman” was the first cassette I ever bought in 1982, at 12 years old. Then Bark at the Moon tour in 1984 with Motley Crue. 1986 Ultimate Sin tour with Metallica, No More Tours in 1992 with Motörhead.
OzzYshows always rocked.
You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized, yeah
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes
I’ve seen your face a thousand times
Every day we’ve been apart
I don’t care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I’m coming home
RIP Ozzy, hope you find your way home
My last playlist on Music Brainz (this afternoon), also the first record I ever bought, back in 1980.
R.I.P.Ever check out Hole in the Sky? Probably my favorite Black Sabbath album.
You mean Sabotage is your favorite Black Sabbath album. 😉 And, yes, I checked it out. I can stand it about 15 times in a row before I’ll start to get tired of my wife playing it repeatedly every second Saturday morning…
Rest in peace, Prince of Darkness.
Crazy Train got me to buy my first CD. RIP.
RIP
