This kinda happened to me at a workplace.
I tried to negotiate my salary when I began and they said they don’t negotiate salaries because people of color and women are disproportionately less likely to negotiate than White men who benefit from the practice. And I’m like, but… I’m a person of color?? They wouldn’t hear any of it. One of the worst jobs I’ve ever had.
“So what you’re saying is, we should all negotiate for our salaries together? What a great idea!”
“It would actually be racist of us to pay you more.”
