I’m sure there are types of jobs that can work for you out there. There are just so many hidden jobs, mostly stuff you find out about when you network with people. That’s how I found most of the jobs I have had over the years, just talking with people.
I’ve never been very good at networking, but I try!
I live in Sweden and the Swedish job market is fked up right now. There is a weird mismatch, we have around 9% unemploymend, even university-gratuates struggle to get a job. If you’re 40 or older, youre too old (I’m ~30).
Recruters are trying to find their perfect match by posting jobs again and again even tho they have already found good candidates. But not good enought apparently.
Also, the politicians have decided to pressure us unemployed as if we are lazy so we will get lower income from next month and people already struggle A LOT to survive. We also have weirder rules to follow, eg. we HAVE to apply 3 jobs that are more than 3h aways even if there ar plenty of jobs closer.
We also have to apply to 3 jobs we don’t have the skills for. At the same time, companies are requested to report appicants that they deem unserious. THAT sounds like a trap.
The safety net is breaking and it’s breaking FAST.
(whelp, I could write a blog-post about this. Maybe I should)
I hate how they use AI but doesn’t give feedback on how well the AI is reading my resume. I’ve heard some struggle with tables (like if you add a sidebar) for example. I’ve also heard there are some that don’t read PDFs, which is just stupid and some looks for a file with “resume” in the name even tho we don’t really use that word in Sweden, instead we use “CV”.
It’s a shitshow.
Thank you, I’m seeing a psychiatrist next week, I hope to get some help from her on how to keep my head up.

Lots of places use AI to sort job applications and also lots of places say they are hiring but never do.
Hopefully you can keep trying and land something good you enjoy doing.

Hope that helps, and hopefully you stumble onto a job, sometimes it just happens.
