Spirits maker Diageo says it will cease operations at its bottling facility in Amherstburg, Ont., early next year, as it shifts some of the bottling volume to the U.S.
I saw this in another community but it impacts locals in the Windsor area. I’m sorry to see these workers loser their jobs.
According to the article: “Diageo said it will engage with the community and find ways to support its employees through the transition, and work alongside Unifor to assist unionized workers.”
I wonder what support they mean – actual support, or a corporate “damn that sucks for you” support.
