    Do you mean over time, like if you leave the bike for a week then come back to it?

    Or do you mean you are having trouble keeping it inflated full stop?

        I’d say it is fairly common. I have set up quite a few tubeless tyres and their ability to stay inflated over time when not being used seems to be utterly random to me.

        I have a bike currently that I haven’t used for a few weeks that I know if I go back to now one tyre will still be at a pressure close to when I left it and the other will be pretty much flat.

        I have re taped the rim, changed the tyre and tried two different types of sealant but it still needs pumping properly before use if I have left it without using it for more than a few days.

        On other bikes I have had similar experiences as well. Wheels I have setup in identical ways with identical products have either held pressure or not over time with no real reason to point to either.

        My point being in my experience I have accepted this as part of running tubeless and will always just need to pump up tyres after a period of not using them. Sorry I can’t offer any tips but if you find something that works please let me know.

          If you swap tires onto the other rims, does the behaviour stay with the rim or follow the tire?

          My thinking is there may be minor dents or something…

    The tubeless tires on my 2nd bike are always flat when I take it out the carage. I use tubes on my main bike.

    If you can get a nitrogen canister from somewhere, that’s supposed to not seep through rubber the way air does. In plumbing we use nitrogen to fill the gas side of expansion tanks for this reason. It’s a normal schrader valve on those things.

    You can use a spray bottle filled with water and 10 drops of dish soap.

    Inflate the tire on the hard side of normal

    Mist/wet the entire tire and rim. Give it a minute and look for bubbles, foam or hissing… This will trace the specific leak you are dealing with.

    The solution will depend on if it’s the valve, rim, rim tape or tire that’s leaking
