    As someone from outside, lol no.

    Most Americans don’t understand that other countries have sovereignty as good as their own. Or that they are as good as any other people.

    Okay, that bit is true. Hitler was a bit more than just oblivious, though.

        You go further, and people don’t necessarily know how oblivious America is either, but go more by romanticised Hollywood tropes about the land of opportunity and cowboys.

        Also, we pretty much see America as an adversary more often than not these days. You can kinda shove that 51st state implication.

          Not as much 51st state as being on the same continent with pretty thoroughly replaced population.

          But - OK =\ Honestly I’m not too knowledgeable about Canadian identities and nationalism.
