The reason why the Republicans and Democrats have been so insistent on and consistent on the messaging around the Kirk killing is because their greatest fear is that a fascist insurgency rises up against them.

Democrats have been hard at work propping up Kirk and Republicans havent waited a second to try and pin it on a left ideology (whether its trans liberation or a antiracist etc.) because they cant have it be a right winger actually disciplining their class of conservative politicians propping up the current order. Both of our parties are conservatives, the Rs have a few genuine fascists, but none that are really willing or able to pull off an actual putsch or coup of the government. January 6th was the best example of this; Hawley throwing up a fist while in a security detail hauling him away, Pence refusing to install a Trump hegemon, Trump himself tweeting out meek orders to stand down, shows how little any of them want to end the charade of US governance.

Kirk himself was ultimately a conservative, regardless of the pedophilia scandal that never seems to end, he backed the president! He wasnt leading a vanguard against the Trans, the POCs or the Jews, he just talked some shit and then his neck exploded. Thats why they are so scared of the Right, rising up against them, properly labeling them as members of the pedophile cabal and getting rid of them. Talking shit not being enough is terrifying, having to do actual action, to disregard the orders of the bourgeoisie who dont actively govern but will not accept a change to how things are governed.

And who was our alleged shooter? A white male well-off 20 something who got more into politics, mostly through a lot of meme poisoning on the internet. That has been their demographic, and if that demographic is going to stochastically terrorize them, is going to blow them away in front of a thousand people in a frankly horrifying fashion, the message is clear.
