      there was an economics paper (that i can’t find or i’d link it) i think about 15-20 years ago which was about how people crave novelty (originalness, not knicknacks). i’ve found one of the best ways to shake myself out of a rut is by going and doing something i’m completely unfamiliar with. sometimes just an hour will scratch that itch.

    Mandatory internet training that captures the computer, prevents you from pausing, speeding up, tabbing out, usually a very slow, overly redundant badly acted video or a lecture. If you take focus away from the lecture, or move the mouse, the lecture stops. And you have to finish this training

    That’s the perfect opportunity to break out second internet. Well, the first internet busies itself completing some task that you don’t care about
