it’s actually a pretty small number of people who believe such things with genuine conviction, but there are a lot of influence and astroturfing campaigns that tend to boost those views on other platforms. Lemmy is frankly too small and fringe to get targeted by such efforts, and without that pressure, such opinions tend to get downed out.
