Why do you think it’s cringe other than you don’t like the guy?

Something about unethical consumption? The clothing is US union-made. The merch is sold at very small margin.

Don’t like the design? The designs look similar to the chapotraphouse and trueanon merch.

Think it’s unfashionable? The clothing was designed by fashion designer fans. Hasan has interviewed fashion experts.

The photos look try hard? It’s not meant to be serious. It’s meant to be ironic.

His name isn’t even featured prominently on most of the merch. If someone in public wore the clothing, you wouldn’t even be able to identify it.

Most personalities start selling merch for additional revenue, such as music bands, celebrities, youtubers, etc. Unlike those people, Hasan started selling merch after his followers demanded that he do it. He’s not selling it for the revenue, he’s selling it because some people want it.

I’ve seen some activists wearing his merch on video and such. When the Pro-Palestine student encampments were happening during Biden’s presidency, I recognized that some of the student activists wore his merch. When Trump revoked the visas of Chinese students earlier this year, I saw CNN interview a Chinese student who had his visa revoked and he was wearing a Hasan shirt.

I think the merch is just meant to be like a hidden signal for his fans to meet each other. If you wore it in public, most people wouldn’t recognize it.

If you saw somebody else wearing the clothing, you wouldn’t think that they are cringe. You wouldn’t even recognize it. You only hate the guy in the photos.
