I read an awesome wiki post on here that referenced ancient bird oracles. I thought it was roman times but seems this could be older reference. They even had a fancy name like “avianoracle” but cooler. Basically they used to watch birds and then make future plans/divinations on which birds they saw.
Augury (general term for divination, but originally birds) or ornithomancy?
