Calling corn kernels “nuts” is pretty unhinged

Corn is technically a fruit, but considered a vegetable or grain in the culinary world. This post is nuts.

It is literally a grass seed, not a fruit.

Corn is literally a fruit and corn kernels are literally the seeds produced by that fruit. This is a scientific fact so I’m not gonna argue with you lol.

Are you saying that the cob is the fruit? Doesn’t the word corn refer to the kernels? Otherwise, corn on the cob would be redundant. Lol, why don’t you want to argue? Isn’t that what the internet is for?

The word “corn” can refer to any number of things depending on the context: the plant, the ear, the kernel on the cob or the kernel alone. Apparently, in the botanical sense, the kernel is the fruit, as are all grains.

Botanically grass seeds are fruit. Science terms shrug
