And there are only, what, ten of them? Man didn’t just make the movies he wanted to make and a bunch of filler to keep the money coming in between passion projects. All of his movies are his passion projects. They weren’t all great, not to everyone, but they were all basically the movie he wanted to make at the time. Oh yeah, and he has that weird thing with feet, but honestly, dude basically “won” in Hollywood.
I think he’s kind of a douchebag, but he kinda earned the clout. Or at the very least he deserves it.

I might go farther than that. I don’t think we’d be friends, but I’d love to watch my favourite movie with him (君の名は。 (your name.)) and hear his critique of it, and based on that, show me a movie that he values highly that he thinks I’d appreciate. Sort of like a cultural exchange of sorts (though, I am not Japanese). And of course I’d critique his pick. We wouldn’t have to agree. And, I would think most movie lovers would value his opinions over mine. That’s fine. But it would be cool to jam with a movie nerd over our favourite flicks.
