For example, I challenge anyone to listen to Dream Theater’s The Spirit Carries On, imagine it’s your old self singing to you, and tell me you don’t get The Feels (that includes you, boys!). And alright, I admit that album’s pretty borderline, but I hope you get the point.

Be Home Free by Whitewoods always made me think that the singer was singing to my inner self, even when I was in complete denial.
I don’t think it’s supposed to be a trans song but the themes it touches upon are so similar (mirror memories, a cell with a key, forgetting your name tonight…) that I couldn’t shake the feeling it had another, more subtle meaning.
It really made me realize how stuck I was in regards to my identity and helped me crack my egg.
