I was just watching Trumbo, where Louis CK plays a screenwriter that actually got cancelled. His character was actually struggling to pay bills, couldnt get any gigs and had to get bailed out by Trumbo. Kind of ironic comparing how his character in the movie got cancelled versus his real life cancellation

The main grievance I have with electoralism is that it is viewed as the goal rather than a means to the goal. I really don’t know if Mamdani will be obstructed to shit and his policies softened to minimize impact to capital. Either way its vital to keep the people who were behind is campaign engaged past the election, so PSL is right on the mark. Participation in class struggle builds class consciousness.

The risk I see is people disengage after the election, and he is obstructed, and then the gutted reforms that pass that do not solve the problems of capitalism are used as criticisms of socialism

The amount of empathy these people show for landlords is astounding

If you dont try to learn any skill because you think you won’t be the best at it, then you’ll end up never learning anything. Capitalism makes it so that we are always in competition with each other, and that penetrates into our consciousness. I think part of it is deprogramming yourself from this competition mindset and focusing on yourself rather than comparing yourself to others.

I think this goes to show why being covert and using divide and conquer strategies was so important for American imperialists. Still the economic system of imperialism is in place, put in by the previous more competent imperialists, and that is the thing that the US still can leverage. I think it will be fading though as time goes on, but I hope the damage it does while that happens can be minimized
