Be careful what you wish for. Some might consider “more users” to mean a huge influx of assholes and normies.
Or maybe more friends idk.
CoffeeVector@lemmy.worldto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•I've honestly never quite realized up until now how utterly ridiculous it is that people (especially in the US) regularly demand that their food be chauffeured to them.English5·19 days agoAre you trying to say food delivery could be efficient? I’m not sure if I’m reading this correctly, because even as someone who isn’t involved in shipping logistics but is involved in some conceptually adjacent logistics, it’s absolutely clear to me why the last mile is harder/more expensive than the “other miles”. Especially in takeout food delivery because of the additional constraints.
Or is this sort of like, pro super-independence and we should avoid shipping in general and prefer local resources?
Ok being real dude, I don’t think this behavior is a product of “mostly-christian (anti)intellectual tradition,” it’s just the type of people who never grew out of the color-in-the-lines and follow-your-line-buddy stuff from grade school. I don’t think there’s any spectacular political statement to be made here.

While I agree with the sentiment that some Linux distros are used friendly, what you’re describing isn’t a good example of that. Not everyone has a technical spouse who can be their sysadmin.
The ideal is that a non technical person maybe stumbles a little trying to install it. Then, they can use it with the same amount (or less) of struggle they might have with windows.
