oh yeah i followed the
one closely. seems it dredged up a lot of valid concerns about site moderation/administration that haven’t really been resolved since the “dunk tank gives toxic he/him bro energy” fiasco last fall, and also a lot of (also valid) concerns about this site being too white and too racist, primarily from our Arab users. imo a few folks came out of the woodwork who had longtime beef with redacted for metaposting a certain mod for less-than-good-faith reasons, but overall most of the concerns were legit and demodding seems like the right move. (also lmao at certain parties calling it a “holocaust emoji,” come the fuck on)also P.S. i’d like to c/selfcrit for making light of the November 2024 struggle sesh on my first account, i was correctly-if-half-jokingly called a “comprador for admin imperialism”
i was offline for most of it (
) and the surface reason seemed silly (renaming the tank comms), but going back into the weeds of it and it unearthed a lot of genuinely fuckshit when it comes to site management. we also lost a good chunk of our best, nicest sincerityposters around that point and the site has kinda sucked ass since.anyway yeah ive become
w/ my knowledge of site lore at this point, too much e-chisme swelling my already broken brain. honestly i’d consider just deleting my ass from this place for good but the internet is too fully integrated into our lives at this point and i need somewhere to hang out online, hexbear continues to be less bad than the rest even though i’ve grown to hate it slightly. and nuking my account and going full lurker just means i can’t block comms and users i don’t care for.
