Monzcarro@feddit.ukto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you reading right now and recommend for others?2·10 days agoI haven’t finished this one yet, do we’ll see.
I’m guessing you mean the first trilogy (apologies if I’m mistaken), as the First Law universe continues for 6 more books after that (plus a collection of short stories). After the Last Argument of Kings, there are 3 “stand alone” novels, which are the strongest, in my opinion, and then a second trilogy, which is excellent.
I believe there are more books planned for that universe, but The Devils is separate. The others I haven’t read as they’re Young Adult, so they probably have cheerier endings.
Were you to read on, you’d probably find some joy for characters you like, but I think unhappy endings outweigh the happy ones. Of course, I could be mistaken and you’ve read all 9, because the ending of the last can definitely be described as devastating too!
Monzcarro@feddit.ukto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you reading right now and recommend for others?3·11 days agoThe Devils by Joe Abercrombie. It’s set in a fantasy medieval Europe. Unfortunately, its not long out and is the first of a series, so I’ll have to wait for the rest.

All these are good (although I never saw the end of The Office), but I’m chaotic evil. IASIP is my all time favourite US sitcom (Peep Show being my favourite UK sitcom).
My orange cat had curled up next to my four year old kid this morning. The kid rolled over in his sleep, snuggled into the cat like a teddy, and he just accepted it.
My other cat is the cat in the meme though, even though she is the one who chooses to sleep on top of me.

Although I do feel I’m learning stuff from being on here.
Monzcarro@feddit.ukto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most unexpectedly useful item you've ever bought under $20?8·14 days agoI have a little fold-out rack with (I think) 24 individual clips on that hold socks and other small items. It can then be attached to the washing line, taking up a lot less space than hanging things along the length of it.
It was £3.99 and it makes putting the washing out so much easier. I much prefer to line dry things outside than using the dryer when I can.
Yup. Matt’s great. Love the podcast.
The Winds of Winter being released. Surely its coming any day now…
But for real, the youngest is going to school in September so I will have an extra day off in the week with no work and no kids.
We went for the annual vet visit last week. Our orange cat was already asleep in his carrier, so I just put the door on and carried him to the car. He hasn’t slept in there since though!

There’s another one in Sidmouth Devon:

I love my steamer. It’s easier to use than an iron and less damaging. You can’t fuse beads with it though
More pounds than sense.
I’m fairly certain that’s New Street All Bar One in Birmingham. This is typical attire for tossers going out day drinking in Brum.
Also, these guys just look British. The short guy couldn’t look more aggressively British if he was wearing the Union Jack and invading countries for their tea.
Also, I’m not sure these clothes cost too many pounds - lots of polyester there. No shade - I don’t buy expensive clothes myself either.
Me heading to the plans I made when I was slightly less fatigued.
