  • I’m enjoying the show but I can’t help but see it as a western critique of communism. The whole show feels primed to play off of the “socialist country does good thing, but at what cost?” Headlines you see. Individualism vs scary brainwashed collectivism. Breaking Bad was a phenomenal show but it definitely also extolled the virtues of rugged individualism.

I do like your read of it though as a critique of AI and hadn’t considered that before.

  • I don’t think it’s sinful to participate in sinful practices when society forces you too. Owning stocks is usually people’s only hope for retirement and not working until they literally die of old age. The moral onus should be placed on the people who design these systems, not those that are coerced into relying on them by design.

Yes, I’m sure this post is a bit.

  • I used to like this guy, but I can’t in good conscience lend my support to someone who would do something like this. What is it that drives a man to move a table twelve feet to the right? Is it lust for power? Greed? Is it just hatred for humanity? Thank god for universities that use tuition dollars to implement this panopticon surveillance, as well as for these publications that aren’t afraid to publish the truth. Otherwise, these crimes may never have come to light.

  • Yeah, if they don’t actually own the building and their labor is being exploited by some corporate management company, then they are by every definition a worker whose alienation from the means of production is affecting them just as much as anyone else. Are they working for an evil company? Sure but so are McDonald’s workers and they’re considered exploited laborers.
