39·5 months agoApparently FIrst Degree Murder in New York only applies when killing cops, public servants, judges and so on, killing while serving a life sentence, killing as a terrorist act, and in a few other edge cases. Premediatet murder is all “just” second degree murder in NY

2·6 months agoYeah it makes perfect sense historical and I actually was aware of most of that. But as an ESL speaker I would never have figured that on my own
But it isn’t even a contradiction. The more you understand how it works the less you like it. Once you’ve peeked behind the curtain you are aware the great and powerful Oz is just smoke and mirrors and bullshit and you don’t believe it’s magic anymore. That’s not contradictory that’s just rational.
