  • Regular, non-expert internet users find it interesting, or even amusing, to generate images or videos using AI and to send that media to their friends. While sophisticated media aesthetics find those creations gauche or even offensive, a lot of other cultures find them perfectly acceptable. And it’s an inarguable reality that millions of people find AI-generated media images emotionally moving.

You’re describing the internet equivelant of ignorance and figurative poverty, where people don’t have the knowledge or the resources to make better choices (fast food deserts, faith healers, the PowerBall) because they are institutionally deprived. This is the same class of users/consumers that big companies look for those exact same qualities in to shill the exact same AI garbage to because they don’t know anybetter. This article is suggesting Mozilla flood the streets of a poor neighborhood with their own crank because their crank is cut less. I see the argument as bad, I see the premise as evil, and I see the rhetoric as manipulative. Respectfully, no.

I invite you to take a look at what the coffee actually did to her before you keep running your mouth. NSFL. If you would not like to look, I offer my services as a transcriber to describe it in depth for you. Whatever I can to make this awful lie McDonalds perpetuated to finally go away.

  • Yes the concept has been explored but don’t let that stop you please! This is called a stellar engine or Shkadov thruster and it is really cool. By the time you’re swinging the whole system around like a piñata at the end of a stick you can also move other bodies, saaay suns, and if its millions of years in the future the people in your world probably have the time to spare to go get them, so the sky is the literal limit. Have fun!

I think they might have mumblemouthed it but you bastards have decided among yourselves that their mispoken statement cannot merely represent an ignorant and misinformed read of history but an intentionally violently racist viewpoint. The screenshotted user was I warrant correct in their historical analysis and absolutely fucking wrong to put words in the thread-OPs mouth, as if earnestly trying to alienate instead of persuade or fact check a damn thing.

Like yeah, abolition wouldn’t have happened without black people, from freedmen writers to rebelling chattel slaves, advocated for themselves. All the well meaning white people (on average rarer then anyway) wouldn’t have meant much without black people wanting to be free and making it known.

Why would you go out of your way to read a person’s response in the worst possible way? Maybe I’m just a fukken airhead but I didn’t see any dogwhistle that justified how you lot are speaking to them. You simply decided to tar and feather the fucker for being kind of wrong about labor history. Then you springboarded into a merciless bed of assumptions.

  • One can present a state of derangement independent of their normal mental health but which does endanger those around them while the state is ongoing. I hope you are not falling for garden variety concern trolling but even as a non-local user I wanna say I do appreciate your commenting (and that of the individual who filed the report) to prevent casual ableism.

    “They chose this”

Ah yes, the drowned children and the women carrying ectopic embryos and the detainees all down to a man chose this by voting. Sure.

There’s an empathy shortage on this planet and its gonna drive us extinct. People on this site delight in the suffering of faceless unknown Americans like my grandparents delighting in Christendom’s pillaging of the heathen Middle Eastern countries because “they chose wrong,” that choice being non Christian and non-white.
