Well, yeah, that makes sense if you look at it a little like this: to distract from the possibility that the bromance divorce will devolve into corporate leaders (the government is a corporation) Elon and Donnie taking pot shots at each other using their space lasers trying to turn the other into a smoking greasy splotch on the earth.
