Over 50% is not like it only benefits the richest

Russia has been sending North Korean troops to fight in Ukraine for them, and Moscow is a good transportation hub for this kind of operations

Regarding the latter - Germany and France are (hopefully) not that stupid, but for instance Poland which spends the biggest share of its GDP on military, already buys foreign stuff instead of investing into domestic production, so I am afraid the rest could go with it. Many of our leaders are just plain stupid (I hope, or worse case: corrupt)

kebab@endlesstalk.orgto Europe@feddit.org•US and EU strike trade deal setting 15 percent tariffEnglish4·4 days agoThat’s literally what we did. Germany wanted to keep their car exports flowing to USA, and now we are all gonna pay the price of having to buy all the American goods

kebab@endlesstalk.orgto Europe@feddit.org•US and EU strike trade deal setting 15 percent tariffEnglish49·4 days agoThis is the most terrible trade “deal” I’ve ever seen signed.
What US gets:
- keeps 15% duties on EU exports with a guarantee that EU won’t retaliate
- EU buys absurd amount of energy from the US
- EU promises big investments in the US
- EU buys even more military equipment from the US
What EU gets:
- nothing

So it’s a matter of who will profit off that. And also, the EU is doing a lot for the environment already. Maybe it’s time for other countries like India to stop throwing trash directly into rivers now? We live on the same planet. Even if EU achieves the zero-emission state, it only accounts for 5% of the population in the world, so it won’t change that much on a global scale if other countries continue refusing to cooperate

kebab@endlesstalk.orgto World News@lemmy.world•Musk ordered shutdown of Starlink satellite service as Ukraine retook territory from RussiaEnglish6·6 days agoThe big instances are blocked (like yours, i.e. lemmy.world) while the small ones that the CCP didn’t catch up with yet (like mine) are working fine. It’s a censorship went wrong moment
Same on iOS, incredibly frustrating. Have you found a solution?
