Jesus, Mary and Joseph and all his carpenter friends what the fuck did you spend 700 dollars on? Is that US?
Like I know you said groceries and various toiletries but the curiosity is tickling me.

It depends on the funeral tbh. Where I’m from anyway suits would generally only be family and close friends.
Pope’s funeral though? Black I’d consider appropriate.
You wear your dark blue suit son. It’s obviously respectful. That’s all that matters.
Where I’m from only close friends and family would wear a suit and dark blue would be absolutely fine. Black jeans and a nice jacket would be spot on here too in nearly all circumstances.
I’ll tell you what though if you got an invite to the pope’s funeral I’d bet you money you’d pony up for black. That’s all folks are saying here.
Macroplastics.
That is a superb video. Thanks for the link.

I find it hilarious that you show graphs that entirely support my point as sone kind of gotcha. The other poster put it well. Europe as a whole has given more.
The EU as an institution gave cash and the US has given more arms total. That EU cash comes from the member nations so there are two levels of contribution for each EU country which you can see from the German arms deliveries that are not counted under the EU contribution but it’s still partly German money being sent when an EU contribution happens. It’s conceptually similar to a US state sending separate funding or arms beyond the federal contribution.
The pie chart you show has exactly the same percentage for the US as mine (42.7%) so it’s just a different representation of the same data. That “other” section on your chart (23.1%) includes contributions from 26 other EU countries beyond their EU money which, when coupled together will conveniently bring it to the total in the graph I posted showing Europe (including non-EU like the UK and Norway) as a whole contributing more, as it should.
The article says:
Shortly after midnight early Saturday morning
So it’s probably what most of us would call “Friday night” but it’s still after midnight in fairness which is quite late.
No it didn’t. Europe ponied up mostly cash to keep the country running while the US donated arms and intelligence because they had more of it but total value Europe was ahead.
Just back from pints with a French lad. Just the two of us. Fucking love the French. Absolutely superb folks.
It’s hard to describe but it’s not snobbery. The French are just themselves and I honestly love them for it. I’d heartily recommend a visit.
I was there one time for work and decided I’d have a steak. Well I know they cook steak rarer than elsewhere so hoping for medium I ordered well done.
Terrible mistake. I got what was basically a lump of raw meat that should have had “get fucked” stamped on it and I felt like I brought it on myself.
America, again get your fucking house in order.
It is genuinely upsetting to watch from the outside as a cold war baby who has visited the states a heap of times and is really fond of the place but this about sums it up.
It depends on the jar quite a bit. I’ve reused jam jars without issue (for jam). Many of them are quite thick and the lids sturdy. I wouldn’t be using pasta ones though. I agree they’re flimsy.
Name and shame!
Absolute fucking hero. If my time ever comes I hope I have the same moral fortitude.
Half Life 2 but with one of the swanky texture packs that exist now. The game blew my mind at release.
Patrick Stewart at the end of “The Inner Light” (the flute episode). Man looks as traumatised as I feel someone would be. It’s all done with his face.
Not a woman so not sure if I should be posting but just wanted to say you sound like a great human from that. Full of kindness and empathy which is the best measuring stick IMO.
What are the noise levels like? From the article it sounds like we have the space but the video on that page does sound quite noisy.
Wild. Our house has six and I’d feed us all for the week for about 180 euro / 200 USD. We cook all our meals though, with some exceptions like occasional frozen pizza or chicken nuggets for convenience.
I spent a summer in the US in the late 90s and I remember basically everything being cheaper there at the time but we have lots of discount supermarkets here now that we didn’t then.
