Hi comrades, thank you so much for putting this together.
I’m a proud trans woman and refugee currently living in Gorom Settlement Camp in South Sudan. I fled Uganda after the anti-LGBTQ+ bill passed, and now I’m struggling to survive in the camp with a few of my trans sisters. Life here is extremely hard we face constant hunger, live in fear, and have very limited access to healthcare. I’m also living with HIV and trying to stay on treatment.
I’ve created a GoFundMe to raise support for basic needs like food, medication, and safety. If you can share or donate, it would truly mean everything: 👇🏿 https://gofund.me/23fca5f6
Thank you for seeing us and holding space for those of us often forgotten.
I hear you , and I’m really sorry you’re going through that… you’re not alone
Hey comrades, just a gentle update We’re still holding on here in the camp, but things are getting harder again.
I wanted to reshare in case anyone missed my earlier post and to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Because of a previous donation, we were able to buy food and essentials, and it truly helped us get through some tough days.
We’re still trying to raise enough to relocate to a safer place. Every kind word, donation, or share gives us strength. Thank you for seeing us.
This made me smile and ache a little. Your grandpa sounds like a character … grumpy but golden. I’m a trans woman living in a refugee camp in South Sudan, and it’s wild how we’re all navigating such different lives but still connecting on places like this. If anyone’s ever curious about what surviving looks like from here, my page is open. Solidarity and ice cream to you both.
Thank you so much for boosting
