rhacer@lemmy.worldto Dad for a Minute@lemmy.world•Hey dad, I just want to hear "I'm proud of you and what you have achieved" from youEnglish9·11 days ago61 year old father of three sons and one daughter. My father didn’t say he was proud of me either. Fathers showing approval of their sons in movies or TV will turn me into a blubbering mess.
All that said to say this. I 100% relate and I am 100% proud of you for understanding your own pain.
You should be pretty damn proud of those A-levels too. Well done!

I’m not very good at very many things, but one thing I’m positive I’m good at is being a dad.
Yes, I’m a happy parent.
rhacer@lemmy.worldto PC Gamer@sh.itjust.works•As a Warhammer fan of over 20 years, I've worked out the 3 rules Amazon needs to follow to make a great Warhammer TV showEnglish1·3 months agoI’m not a Warhammer fan, but I might be. My middle son talked me into playing Owl Cat’s Rogue Trader and I haven’t enjoyed an RPG so much in ages.
I then decided I needed to read some of the fiction, did some research, and picked up Gaunts Ghosts solely because it’s a tribute to Richard Sharpe.
I haven’t got far enough in it yet to pass judgment.
So I’m nibbling around the edges of fandom, but not quite there yet.
I’m a sixty year old nerd. No one hires those.
However, thank you very much for the kindness of your post.
Today was one of those days for me.
My wife’s standards are different than, mine, but I’m reasonably neat and tidy.
