But what you’re alleging is that they’re pretending to be anarchists to get people to oppose capitalism, right?

How is pretending to be an anarchist to trick other people into becoming anarchists functionally different from just being an anarchist?
I don’t understand anarchy well, or really any political theory, but if there wasn’t a state to have a monopoly on violence, couldn’t we just kill the people trying to hog resources and control people? Right now it’s illegal for us to harm people who are very clearly and directly harming others, and I think our situation would be improved greatly if certain people in power were dead, and if everyone could see that their harmful actions are what caused them to be targeted.
I think y’all who are upset over the use of “freeware” are out of touch with how language is used in non-expert settings. Like, I’m definitely more tech-savvy than most people and I still didn’t know about “FOSS” as a term until seeing it on Lemmy and looking it up. This just means “free software” to me and doesn’t imply anything negative.
It even says, “the premier free and open source image editing software for multiple platforms” right in the first paragraph, so what’s the issue? Do you think the headline will mislead someone into thinking that GIMP is proprietary?
But actual anarchists also oppose governments of Western nations. If the alleged tankies are only fomenting anarchist sympathy rather than arguing in favor of dictatorships, then what’s the difference? Are you trying to say that we can’t get rid of Western capitalism until we take down the Chinese government first?
