Economists say businesses are now replacing entry-level jobs with artificial intelligence.
Oh good so there’s literally no way to climb the corporate ladder, now. I wonder how they think senior-level jobs will ever be able to be filled when the old ones age out and they’ve never had anyone entry-level to train up to a senior position? Or are they really so stupid as to think that the AI will eventually replace senior roles too? Or maybe it’s not that they’re stupid but they need it to happen so badly whether the AI is worth a shit or not that they’ll throw everything they can at it to try to make their wet-dream of unquestioning digital slaves happen?
No business is making 15 year plans, quarterly numbers must go up, lest the shareholders kick you out. Blame capitalists for this one.
lest the shareholders kick you out
Aww boo hoo how hard it must be to get kicked out with… *checks notes… A golden parachute.
(To be clear I am not chiding you, I can read your sarcasm here, I know we agree on this, just adding to the absurdity)
Or are they really so stupid as to think that the AI will eventually replace senior roles too?
This one
Exactly this.
Fuck Ai fanboy with 0 foresight helping to usher in this shit like the little corporate tools they are.
UBI UBI UBI UBI
No one wants to work anymore!
To some extent this isn’t new. Lots of companies stopped hiring entry level positions ages ago and just hoped to hire employees that other companies had already developed.
that trend has been ongoing since last decade, AI just accelerated that. when i was looking for jobs in stem, all the listings were basically asking for expertise beyond entry level while offering entry level pay , but in reality they dont want to train people they expect you have the expertise already.
If “there’s a sucker born every minute”, how many grads does that equal?
There is no right answer. They’ll be called suckers no matter what choice they make, because the economy is mostly “bullshit jobs”.
The for-profit collegiate system has been a scam at best and an outright lie for most.
