I think they should ban Dragon Ball too, journey to the west is Chinese bro.

Actually you should ban any anime/game that has chi or yin and yang like Avatar the last Airbender. Honestly, ban any anime/game with any Japanese element, half of that shit came from China at some point.

Reminder that the entire Fate series has a bunch of Chinese and Russian character, very nasty!!

Ukrainian nationalists don’t just hate communism, they hate Russia too. That’s why they want to eradicate the language from their country.

I’ve seen them post memes about Ukrainian culture being more advanced than Russian culture in the 16th fucking century. I’ve seen football referees flag players for speaking Russian on the field. I’ve seen beachgoers beat people up for speaking Russian. I’ve seen grown men get livid at little girls for singing Russian pop songs.

Before he was elected president, Zelenskyy spoke primarily Russian with his friends and family. Now he pretends to use a translator when negotiating with his Russian counterparts.

      Remember the “chicken Kyiv” BS?

Europeans love bragging about their advanced civilization for some reason, when China saw a dozen cultures with 100,000 man armies, gilded palaces, planned cities, advanced architecture, standardized money systems, and university systems - all rising, falling, being erased from history, and rising again - meanwhile continental Europeans were still trying to figure out how to eat with utensils in that same timespan

This is exactly why I don’t take libs seriously when they handwave with “Blame the govt. not the people” but then turn around and ok this type of shit.

i’m afraid russia is now oriental again and that is something bred in the bones. not many people know that russians have a famous USSR sequence in their DNA. they’ve always had it, ever since their thirst for the souls of the living awoke.

I’ve seen ppl on Twitter say that they’d only trust a Russian dissident if they succeeded in blowing off Putin’s head at point blank range and that the fact that no one’s done it yet proves that even the most hardline anti-Putin activists are irredeemable wimps and that even if one of them opposed every law, policy, and military action of the past 15 yrs they’ve actually subconsciously wanted to join the Black Hundreds for their whole life

They got the wrong indie visual novel lmao. Everlasting Summer is a Russian VN about a paranormal Soviet Pioneer camp. Endless Summer is one of those choose your own adventure games with the horrible ads.

I’ve never played Everlasting Summer, but I’ve read a couple of the fanfics (all sorts of weird stuff ends up in the “communism” tag on AO3, most of it is so bad that even pretty terrible stuff eventually seems worth reading because it’s better than the rest of the tag, precious little of it is actually kinda good), at least one in which a modern Western politically-unconscious post Cold War child of the Red Scare type managed to somehow wind up there, and, well, I know it’s supposed to be all supernatural horror shit, but some of those scenes just made me want to take that guy’s place so badly. I mean, I have fits of wishing I’d been born in the USSR a lot, I think that’s kinda common for Western MLs my age, but that triggered entirely different “myself in the USSR” fantasies a lot harder for a bit, y’know. Especially with reading scenes like the assembly and flag raising, and being like “I’d handle that with a lot less hostility towards the Soviets.” or “I’d want to learn the language quick not because of a cute girl (though that is motivating), but because, oh my god, getting to argue about communism with actual Soviet commies, fuck, yes please!” Like, I wouldn’t almost drop a Soviet flag or feel something in me screaming and burning at touching it, I’ve literally got one hanging on my bedroom wall at home. I wouldn’t have an instinctive panic at hearing the people around me speaking Russian, nor would it take me all that long to recognize the place as a pioneer camp and the context as Soviet times. I do wonder how long it’d take me to tell someone that I’m a commie too and I think the Soviet Union is awesome and the Cold War is bullshit.

The game itself was made by and is aimed at younger Russians with nostalgia towards the USSR. In the same way that US millennials feel cheated by boomers ruining their country, a lot of Russian people aren’t necessarily communist but still recognize that the 90’s were a disaster for their country. Its been like a decade since I read it, but I don’t recall it being particularly political - it’s mainly set dressing for a pretty standard visual novel.

This is just reminding me of the Slavas who tried to get Bungie to remove Saint-14 from Destiny because he’s Russian

Yeah, remove the gay love interest of one of the most important characters in the game, that will really show the Russkies

that will really show the Russkies

That’s basically what all of this boils down to. It’s just Cold War era Russophobia, emboldened, and somehow even stupider than it was back then. In the Western reaction to this whole mess, I just see washed up old Cold Warriors seeking an excuse to say all the truly horrific things about “Russkies” that they couldn’t say anymore after ‘91 happened and hostilities officially ceased. My dad watches war news and shifts into what must be his ten year old self. And the same thing happens each evening in millions of living rooms all across Turtle Island. And then it leaks onto those folks’ social media, emboldening each other. Children of the Cold War, calling people nasty names and doing stupid xenophobic crap and generally acting worse behaved than most ten year olds.

    Disco is obvious.

    Hazbin is because gay.

Simple as that. There’s gonna be no further reasoning. It’s anticommunism and homophobia. Ukraine is never beating the nazi allegations.

Disco Elysium is pro-communist and antifascist, ergo, its fans wouldn’t like Bandera and Shukhevich

the bunch over at the sub would give you a nice surprise, its like a guy who’s really, really into the aesthetics of communism but denounces everything communist at every chance he can get

A lot of libs see that it makes fun of communism and conclude therefore that it mustn’t be pro communist because “it is making fun of communists too!” without realising that the game’s mockery is actually saying things about the ideologies it mocks, it isn’t just the South Park “caring about things is dumb” thing that most westerners are used to.

Considering how sloppy that list is I’m guessing the Disco Elysium thing is based entirely on cosplayer Dima Petkos who has quite the outreach on social media, is - to be fair - a dead ringer for Harrier DuBois and a bighuge russian nationalist in the worst way

    also a transphobe but I don’t imagine that’s a problem honestly
