He’s just a dude doing a job who finds himself in way over his head and is doing his best to handle a situation he does not have the training, preparation, or equipment for.

    I think a really underrated aspect of Alien is that the Nostromo crew are co-workers. The thing pulls that vibe off well too. No one onboard have that close of a relationship, but they have gotten very used to operating together to accomplish a task. He still broke quarantine which is suuuuch a middle management move. My chef is pretty similar really. I might float the concept of what if we were on the Nostromo at work tomorrow. Seems like that has good riff potential
