I got compliments on my hair and it made me feel nice. I wanted my hair to be an “employable burgundy” (as much as in my soul, I deeply wanted as bright of a red as possible), but it came out a little too subtle. Thankfully, when the light is nice, it looks great and I love getting complements.

I think it looks great! It’s subtle but that’s what makes it work, it gives it depth and I like how the colour graduates through the hair

Thanks~ Best believe though, in October we’re going back over it so that way it’s obvious that it’s burgundy in all lighting, not just when my hair hits the sun. To me, burgundy is still in the red family, but isn’t too “out there” of a color (I desperately wish we could just let adults have vibrant hair without fear of being judged).

Finally starting to feel satisfied with my little creature that’s the focus point of a huge drawing! I gave up on the ice antlers because they gave me a hard time, but I’m digging the colourful crystal wings!

He’s really taking shape Elaine, and I can see how much you’ve progressed. I really like his little face, and how it’s all coming together

I solved a thorny problem at work this week! It was tricky but I worked it out all by myself. I’m really proud of myself for that.

I really helped a mate with a problem he had, he was really grateful and we had a nice moment. It meant a lot to me, he really likes and trusts me.

I’m overall sticking to my diet! My trousers just about fit me again which is good

I cleaned a bit more out of the back back room. The kitten also came out to me and husband and asked us to come take a nap which was very cute. She was all sleepy and clearly was tired of waiting for us to join her normally!

I was feeling really bad about myself yesterday, it was just an off day - but today I got my shit together and used construction adhesive to glue a baseboard to a concrete wall in my basement … I thought this was going to be pretty easy - was I ever wrong, I had so much trouble:

The adhesive didn’t fit in my caulk gun at first, I had to literally warp the plastic to get it to finally fit (they look like the right size, no idea what’s up, I would have thought this was standardized).

Once I had the adhesive on the baseboard and I put the board up against the wall, I realized the concrete wall was not flat and there were gaps between the board and the wall 😱

So then I found some hand weights and put them up against the board to at least have some pressure against the board so it’s a little more flush. I read online that some people drive screws or nails through the concrete, and that was well beyond what I could do in a pinch to help this board cure flush against the wall … someone mentioned using a 2x4 and wedging it against the opposite wall - so I went around looking for scraps, piling as many of my home gym weights as possible against the baseboard as I could (only mildly helpful).

Alas I had no 2x4 pieces long enough to work, but I found some scrap wood that was maybe half the length, and brought those to see if I could wedge it diagonally. No luck, unfortunately.

Then I thought to put the long pieces together as though they were one long piece, and then add some shims and other scrap pieces to create enough length that it built tension against the baseboard and it sorta works! I did take an inch long splinter into my hand in the process, though - and now I’m nursing my wounds feeling half accomplished.

Was it a win? I don’t know, but I’m going to boldly claim it was anyway. (Related: Why is there no emoji of someone posting a flag at the top of a mountain?)
