This is late, but I’m leaning toward 1 being the case. My prediction is that she will slowly grow more comfortable with the Hive over Season 1. She’ll start thinking that maybe it’s not so bad, and maybe things would be better if she joined. Then in the last episode, someone (maybe the pirate lady) will have their link unintentionally broken and just immediately start screaming and begging for her help. That will be the Season Finale cliffhanger.
