TDSB spokesperson Emma Moynihan told the Star that the school has since determined there was no need to cover the photo, as students are “permitted to wear cultural attire in school.” The TDSB did not say who made the decision to cover the photo.
The yearbook will be reprinted for those who want one, Moynihan said. When asked why the principal had told students the sticker had been a misprint, Moynihan maintained that the board’s statement was accurate.
