I’ve long suspected that MAGA will quickly fall apart following Trump’s death, or at least splinter violently into dozens of factions. Trump is too much of a cult of personality for that power to be neatly handed down to any one successor; even if the GOP brass bend the knee to Vance, I still think the people themselves are going to cannibalize him and each other over not being “Trump” enough.

Maybe that’s wishful thinking though. I can only hope.

This is an incredibly myopic view of what’s considered “culture.” If you’re only looking for culture on TV and mass media, then you’re going to find products, because that’s exactly what those things were designed and optimized to sell. But culture definitely still exists, and it’s exactly where we left it: In the genuine interactions between the people around you.

Side note, I played this one when it came it out and it’s an absolute banger. I went in with fairly mild expectations, but the gameplay was really solid and the story absolutely blew me away. The voice acting was very strong too; definitely recommended even at full price.

Yeah, the consensus seems to be that Chuck essentially engineered this new “deal” but he knew it would be wildly unpopular so he had only the senators who aren’t up for election next year vote yes, while he voted no to keep his hands clean. Classic slimy bullshit from a classic slimy bullshitter.

I defo think we should run AOC over Newsom. That said, people staying home because voting for the lesser of two evils “violated their moral code” is how we ended up in our current situation. It is unbelievably selfish to prefer to say “at least my hands are clean” as the world grows drastically darker due to your inaction. I really hope we get to vote for AOC in 2028, but if we don’t, then I am begging you to do some reflection and change your attitude.
