As a (relatively) new father, I feel this deeply. I’d love to eventually bring my son to the important places from my youth, but they are gone or changed. That arcades aren’t the same. They’re making a huge mistake authoritative often do. You have to give people something to lose. If the minimum of resistance leads to the maximum punishment, then it doesn’t encourage people not to resist, it encourages them to go further because they’re already being punished as much as they can be. This is going to radicalized a lot of people. May all the protesters be safe.

If it must be done, do it. However, wisdom dictates being able to assess the situation and knowing when to tough it out, and when to recuperate, regroup and attack the problem with renewed strength. Experience is the best tool to be able to tell which each scenario is.

Not me, but a friend. We were at an LGBTQ+ friendly ice cream shop in Seattle trying to figure out what to order, so he’s trying samples. Out of nowhere he says “man, this ice cream is so good!
