Lots of interesting trends happening right now in transphobia. Rowling is temporarily refocusing on the ace community. Intersex people are being discussed on the floor of the Texas House. Here’s my called shot. I think a lot of transphobes, especially politicians, are going to start dropping the pretense of caring about “biological sex”.
The truth is that the biology doesn’t support them and they’re increasingly being called on it. Half assed ally libs are learning how to bring up intersex conditions and push back against the idea that it’s an immutable binary. Yet even the christofascists pretend to give a shit about what biology says when making their appeals to biblical truth, referring to “biological sex” and “chromosomes” in the same breath as claiming they’re speaking the word of an ancient god whose prophets had no such concept. I think that particular mask is gonna come off real soon.
They don’t care what doctors say. They don’t care what biologists say. People are learning their talking points. So next iteration, they’re gonna come up with a new term like “god-given sex” to really make clear what they’re getting at.
I mean the rabid, online, TERFS already got a new meta with the ‘metaphysical gamete production’ ass shit. Like not even what size are your gametes, it’s “what size are the gametes you have produced at some point in time or may produce in the future, that’s the sex you are this is a very good system please help I actually hate myself a lot and the transphobia isn’t helping as much as I thought it would.” Know what I mean?

If you ask me, I’m waiting for them to just drop all pretenses admit they’re doing this simply for no reason except a cheap laugh, hence why you hear “it’s just a joke”. That’s what most bigotry is deep down. Not that I’m saying it’s harmless, but chuds might genuinely see their monstrous behavior as no different than a cheeky 8-year old boy having fun.

I think they’ll ignore intersex people the same way they have been, and how they ignore trans men when harping on about sports.
Focusing on an immutable sex is a core part of transphobia and their world view. By pretending science is broadly on their side they can recruit more people to their side. Look at how even “allies” often use agab language- the same way these fascists use biological sex. Lots of people focus entirely too much on how someone was born. That’s what they mean by biological sex and I think that’s easily digestible for a mainstream audience.

They’ve been doing this for a long time, it doesn’t do anything. Its off topic and a weak defense. Its easy to dismiss intersex people as a birth defect or whatever (not that it is- just that’s the easily digestible view and an easy explanation).
Also, they benefit from not making it clear what they are getting at. Do any of their terms really say what they mean? Look at abortion, they aren’t actually pro life, abortion isn’t “murdering children”, they call fetuses babies ffs. They are very willing to blatantly use the wrong terms for things if it sounds more convincing in an argument and biological sex is way more convincing for fence sitters then god given sex, same way calling a fetus a baby is more convincing.
I mean. They might. But they are equally likely to simply stick to their guns and repeat the same shit over and over. They are terminally incurious and dogmatic, not to mention pretty lacking in creativity.
They’ll start demanding that a sex priest is present at every birth to Christen newborn children as either male or female, as ordained by God.
