I’m keep noticing Saga covers at my local comic book store. I hadn’t heard of it before, but people seem to like it. Does anyone here recommend it? And also, is it the kind of universe that you have to get way into, or do you think I will be able to pick up the first collection enjoy that by itself?

It’s one of the best comics out right now. I’ve been reading it since it came out, it should go for ~104 issues. Awesome space opera about love and war and family and everything in between. Very funny and at times, very sad.

Holy shit. That’s great news! I fell off about 25-30, but if that’s the case, I’ll be picking right back up asap!

I have read it and enjoyed it. I’d recommend it! It’s not super deep, you could definitely read just the first collection, however I think you’d want to keep going after that as the story is quite intriguing.

Read the first collection and thought it was fun. Waiting for the rest to get bundled together before I keep going

I’ve rear the first few numbers. Enjoyable. Although after the time jump it lost me a little.

Definitly reccomend. It feels like it tells on itself explicitly midway. Which was great.

I remember really liking it when it first came out, and then following the tpbs for a bit, but ended up losing interest while waiting between tpb releases around i think 2018/2019. For Brian k Vaughn I’m a bigger fan of y: the last man. They do arcs and you can enjoy the first collection by itself without having to dive into the whole series it’s not all just intro and setup, if they have one at your local shop or in stock trades I think still has good prices and sales on the larger volumes.

It’s an awesome story, great art, and really got me hooked into non-superhuman comics.

Yes, it’s a good read. Try the first collection. I don’t think they will ever stop making it, even though some kind of structure is hinted at.

I’ve been pulling single issues from the beginning. It’s a great series. Not Vaughn’s best in my opinion, but a great story with plenty of shocking and enjoyable moments. I think it’s going coasting in fumes a little bit given the slow pace of publication o we the last couple years but I’m still enjoying the issues when they come out.

I know a lot of people really like it, but I tend to be in the opposite camp.

Nothing really seems to happen. I read, I dunno, the first 40 issues or so and I kept waiting for the actual story to start… it doesn’t. Not really.

There are individual scenarios that are interesting, Lying Cat is, obviously, amazing.

But it doesn’t seem like there’s an actual “Story” story.
