but it gives them happy thoughts when they trust you. you’re not controlling them, and if they really don’t want it they’ll let you know. many of them will be sad if you don’t pet them 3:

ive made bad experienc with animls:
- almost evri dog n owner bark supr loudli at me, evn if i am at the othr side of the street
- i get vrri vrri vrri shockd n feard when yelled at. bt dogs r lik… theyr evn loudr n mor aggressiv to my ears…
- i tend to be in fight or flight mode for like 20 minutes after thad… nt vrri comf ;(
- i got bittn by cat n alsuu goose once (yes, a goos)
- father had two vrri loud n annoyin parrot for long time

that’s reasonable to not like them. i agree that selective breeding sucks, but animals like dogs and cats largely aren’t friendly via artificial selection. many can live independently and are just friendly because we’re mutually helpful
