    pepperman-grudge

I got my GAC from PP for five years. The thought of any clinic abandoning trans people when they’re the most accessible and sometimes only option for entire States is infuriating. If they comply this will genuinely be a notable decline in the quality of life for trans people all over the United States, especially outside the big cities.

Planned Parenthood is extremely NGO-ified. It technically has two wings, one for medicine and one for political lobbying / propaganda, but the latter provides so much funding for the former that it might as well be the parent organization.

So PP will, unfortunately, go in whatever direction it believes will get it funding, which has historically been lobbying and integrating with the Democratic Party. That “party” is not exactly stepping up for trans people so I’m pessimistic. I wouldn’t be surprised of Dems went TERF soon.

People support this. Obviously the openly transphobic section of people do, but even “allies” frequently promote conversion therapy and shit. People genuinely just hate us for making them feel uncomfortable and I hate them right back. Makes me just as doomer knowing how many people hate us.

    more ranting about healthcare, transphobia

Its extremely clear how most people see us when the topic of trans kid’s healthcare comes up. How many cis people honestly think trans kids should go through the right puberty and the same time cis kids do? Fucking nobody. Because they fundamentally see us as second class, as mentally ill, whatever. The “progressive” stance is letting adults “make their own choices” like trans healthcare isn’t essential and life saving. They see it as optional, as cosmetic. Correct pronouns are to be polite, not because they actually see us that way. and that’s the “progressives”. Obviously the other half sees as as predators, mentally ill, an affront to god (good, fuck him), something to be destroyed.

    I hate cis people.

what’s crazy is I got my last prescription (no more refills after this) just around the time this voicemail came in, and I ordered some DIY a few days ago anticipating something like this… I’m way over 18/19 so this isn’t some “save the children” type beat

the appointment was to get my first round of labs to check hormone levels, but I guess I’m just gonna be winging it from now on shrug-outta-hecks

Another piece of advise(meow-hug btw. Your situation sucks).

If you can’t track bloods, you can still track some symptoms and effects yourself.
With estrogen the easy ones would of course be the desired effects, but also very importantly negative ones, those could indicate problems with the dosage. For example lack of energy or severe moodswing.

Lack of energy is simple, you likely don’t have enough sex hormones in your body. Most likely not enough E. But I know women who also lack energy due to low T, you need both, even as a trans woman.

Severe Moodswings are also often caused by E, but this time too much, or you have too step of a curve in your bloods.(This one is more common with esters other than EUn or EE.)

These two are just the first two I remember.

When I started Diy I kept a diary for the first few weeks, trying to track daily mood an energy and stuff. That on paper is probably the simplest way to do this.

thanks for the advice (and meow-hug)

I’ve actually been keeping a transitioning journal since a bit before HRT, but after I started it became more about physical observations (the most noticeable ones that have persisted from the beginning to now are chest soreness and no more spontaneous erections) than emotions or energy levels. I don’t know if I could say there’s much of a difference in those, aside from a vague sense of constant dread going away. Do you think that’s enough to know if the HRT is doing its thing?

I really pity all of you Americans, genuinely. I hope you do find ways to protect yourself through organizing, and to say the least it’s really bleak watching the collapse from afar knowing that in a few years, my country will be next. Sooner or later.

Thanks, it means a lot. For people who have little contact with the world outside the states like me, its surprisingly comforting to know there are people around the world who care
